  • Find a willing friend or close colleague.

  • Sit together, and ask your partner to share how they’re really doing, and how they’re feeling about it.

  • Replay the last one to three words from your conversation partner. Remember to use emotion and emphasis, authentically demonstrating true care about what you hear.
